Breast screening

Breast screening is a way of finding breast cancers early, when they are too small for you or your doctor to see or feel. The first stage of breast screening is a mammogram. A mammogram is an x-ray of each breast.

Examinations performed during screening at the WHOP Van:

Digital Mammography

Blood pressure measurement

Blood sugar testing

Weight and BMI calculation

Note down lifestyle habits like contraceptive pills, weight, lactation, and family history.

Recommendations for Breast Cancer Screening:

Monthly breast self examination starting at age 20.

Annual screening mammography starting at age 45.

Women in high risk categories may want to consider starting screening at age 30.
